Laptop Viruses Help page Some viruses are Antivirus programs *****If you are on the internet and you see a message saying "you have 120 potential virus threats"- Completely ignore it. It is a Scam. Some have downloaded the ( Antivirus) software only to realize later on that they have downloaded a virus. How does it work? First the software tells you its found lots of virus after doing a scan, Great but how do you remove them? The software then tells you to go to their website and register after you have typed in the forms you are then asked to pay £30.00 or so to remove the viruses. This is a rip off and a big scam. The worse thing is you cannot remove the antivirus program. Even trying a system restore often will not remove it. There are plenty of system tools out there at the moment that totally slaughter your operating system. They slow it down and often start up as soon as you switch the computer on checking your system so you cannot do anything the laptop hardly responds at all. Everyone just wants your pound notes that's why they make these system tools and antivirus programs just to collect your cash. Can we recommend an Antivirus program? At Laptop Repair UK we do not recommend any of the large Antivirus companies. If you want to download a free antivirus just got to james davis search at the bottom of that website you will find the latest free antivirus we have tested and found to be the best. - We do not get paid to advertise any brands at all... You would think that as an engineer , replacing a motherboard would be harder than fixing a Laptop with virus . How wrong you could be. Viruses take the longest amount of time to repair. There are hundreds of thousands of them !! Picture the scene here I am waiting for a callout to fix a Laptop .The phone rings and some one calls saying i have the Natas32.worm, can you fix it? .hmmmmm Can I fix it ? What is it? What does it do? I've never heard of it. Hold on I am a pc engineer surely I can fix anything on a Laptop. Well in this case you have to be like a doctor and prescribe anti- biotics. Yes i can remove the virus but usually this means reinstalling the entire operating system .I personally have found many of the large brands of antivirus software to be a complete waste of money .You buy the software from the shop install it , It does a scan and doesn't detect any virus but you know you have one because a message comes up saying you have one. So you go on the net to do an update , the virus is still there. What a nightmare !! So you ring the company helpline and get told you have to pay another load of cash for their helpline. In their defence you will never be totally up to date with viruses as many come out every day. At our workshop we can remove every virus ever written guaranteed. Sometimes the only way to guarantee removing the virus is to back up your files and reload windows loading your files back on afterwards. Our company can do this for you for the set price of £75.00 This includes cleaning out fans and speeding up your laptop as fast as it can run.

What is a virus ?
A virus is a piece of software or a program that has been written in software code for causing problems on other software. Software is something you cannot touch. Hardware is something you can , ie screen mouse laptop hard disk and so on. Software is microsoft office microsoft windows and other programs that you cannot physically touch. Microsoft programs are not viruses the programs that attack them are. A virus is usually a piece of software that harms Microsoft windows and gives it instructions to slow down or keep repeating the same instructions so that the machine has problems booting or even carrying out simple tasks. Why would someone write a virus? A lot of viruses are just variations of other viruses. A code writer may find a virus change it slightly then tell his fiends look what I have made. He then names it after himself and then sends it out to the net to someone who has upset him. Also he may have unscrupulous customers asking him to write a virus so they can get back at someone. ed James Davis
